TSU Research library shared its’ experience at the international level
In summer newsletter 2019 of the IFLA* multicultural library services Section, the article "Language diversity at University Library" has been published. It highlights the experience of arrangement, development and spread of multilingual student environment in the Research library of the National Research Tomsk State University under support of the of TSU International relations Devision. Speaking clubs are unique opportunity for people to get together in an informal setting to discuss interesting issues in a foreign language. There are no particular requirements to language proficiency level to attend the clubs, – only the desire to speak a foreign language is quite enough! English-speaking club has become so popular among the Research library readers that it has been decided to run German and French speaking clubs either. Moreover, this academic year international students have an opportunity to attend Russian for Fun club in the International resource center (IRC) of the Research library. The linguistic diversity of speaking clubs does not separate us by language different types criteria, vice versa, it brings us closer and offers us new understanding of our history, cultural differences and traditions. *IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations) - International Federation of Library Associations and institutions.
