The scientific community annually, on February 8th, celebrates its professional holiday–The Day of Russian Science.

Science through the course of time has not stand still, it has been moving  and strived forward to the future. It is the main progressive force in all spheres of human life. Investigating the unknown, discovering the new, creating the unique – this keeps the key aspect of science. Every scientist and researcher relies on the rich predecessors’ experience, as for the topical scientific discoveries of research and scientific laboratories, teams and schools the daily thorough efforts are being fulfilled behind.

All those who have devoted their lives to scientific and research activities, we wish you creative energy, the new projects fulfillment and the effective discoveries implementation in life! From the history of the holiday

On February 8, 1724, by the Decree of the emperor Peter I, the order by the governing Senate was issued on the development of Science in the Russian State and the establishment of the Academy of Sciences.

By the 275th anniversary of the Academy’s foundation,  by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, in 1999 it was decided to establish and celebrate the "Day of Russian Science" holiday on February 8.
